All my Dad has ever wanted was to catch and land a monster cat. He's not much of a fisherman and has lost a few nice channels. T o him a 24" channel is a big cat. So for a Fathers day "gift" I took him out on the river and set him all up. It wasn't long and boom !! the fight was on !! pelling line from the reel it was a good 15 min. fight. In the end it was 40 inches and 30 Lbs. !!! 9 lbs bigger than my best !! Oh well , Happy fathers day dad.

    That's fantastic! You're a good son.

Don't worry about him being bigger than your personal best - that's your fish, too - and you will always remember that one, even more than all of the fish you reel in.

I lost my Dad last summer. He was not a fisherman, so we didn't fish together, but I have lots of other memories of times spent with him, and they are more precious than anything.

congrats to u and your dad. I guess now u have a new goal to shoot for to try and beat the old man. I'll bet that he couldn't have asked for a better father's day gift than that IMO
