    Hey guys...

    This is preliminary, BUT...
My cousin went to go get his very first trapped fisher sealed by the State of New York, and the DNR went NUTS. They called in 5 other officers and 3 other trappers to look at it.

Apparently if this thing is what they claim it to be, it will smash the New York State record for a Giant fisher by a whopping 8 inches or more in length. The body was (frozen) just over 30 inches and the tail was 18 1/2 inches (frozen).

My cousin's taxidermist claims that there is no mold for a fisher that is this big and that he will have to shave down a wolverine mannequin to fit the size.

Attached hopefully are pics. The fisher is the slightly less hairy thing being held up by the slightly more fuzzier italian. LOL

Now I am not a trapper. I never have done it, so I dont know a thing about it... but seeing these pics gave me a whole new respect for those who do this sport. You guys are pretty cool!

If anyone out there who runs trap lines knows absolutely ANYTHING about this animal please share it. I dont know much about it except it was really mean and big for its species. Thats all my cousin told me.
