I might get the Abu 6000. It looks great but I'm worried about the no ball bearings deal. For $45 ($70 in most places I believe) it should come with AT LEAST 2 ball bearings. Other than that it looks like a fine reel. Especially for slingin' cut bait for channel cats. I'll probably end up getting one anyway, because, well I'm addicted to new fishing gear!

I bought a Berkley Glowstik combo yesterday @ Wal-Mart for $25. The reel sucks, it has 2 ball bearings but is not smooth at all, it is made of plastic with crappy line spooled with it. But the rod is a 7' M Glowstik which rocks! It is very stiff, stiff enough for a decent flathead I believe. I'm gonna try it for carp, channel cats, and maybe even throw a live bluegill out and see if I can get a flathead.

Big D, nine of them are on American Spirit 7'6" Pro Nite Sticks, and two of them are on 6'6" Berkley
'Big Game' rods. I need about four more setups and my arsenal will be satisfactory.

For the deal at which I got them through the old BOC, at $29 each, it was a great score. I think they are around $43 from CC. I hope one day they will strike up another "special" with the USCA. I would like to add at least a half dozen more.
