In 2015 my then 5 year old boy caught a couple 20 pound channel cats. 2016 was a crazy big fish year and he caught a bunch, 2017 a couple, 2018 he caught one 20 pound channel cat. It was not until a couple days ago that he caught another one. He now understands how special a 20 pounder really is after waiting seven years between fish. The photos compare him from when he was 8 to now being 15.

Good looking fish, and good looking young man you have there Brad.
We have a content creator and his son that fish the same waters I do for the last 3-4 years or so. The youngster is a bit younger than yours, his pb Blue has gone from under 20 to around 55 since they started their channel on YT. Literally every hook-up the kid starts screaming PB, PB. LOL. He still hasn't quite figured out how special bigger catfish really are, but at some point in the future he will look back and appreciate the time when 3-4 times a year he was landing a PB.

Awesome. I know a guy that got an incredible monster buck high on the Boon & Crockett score, his 1st time out. I don’t think he's been back out years later.
I've mentioned it before, but I am just in awe of how thick and long the whiskers are on your Channels up there. (looks like the recent fish lost part of his whisker though)
Atleast fishing is now in his blood......thanks to his Dad. Its always fun catching a big one. You can tell that at 8 and at 15 he enjoyed catching those fish.
