I'll start by saying the pics are on the way! Well here's the story, Feb 20th was my oldest daughter's birthday, she turned 17. Well she and my other 2 girls had school, my wife who always fishes with me didn't feel the greatest, so I decided to head out to the old cooling pond and catch up some supper myself. The 2-4 lb channels have been bitin there all winter. Anyway to make a long story short, I wound up catching about 3 decent keepers in 30 minutes. The wind picked up and it was cold, about 20 degrees, I suppose the windchill was about 0-10 degrees. The fiddlers moved in and after throwing back out 10, 6 inchers it was time to go. My "good" pole was laying across the channel and what I thought was a dinker was messin with it. I picked it up, reeled down and more out of frustration than anything set the hook. The result, a 17lb Channel on my daughter's 17th birthday. This is by far (6lbs) the biggest Channel I have ever caught!! The Master Angler application has been certified and is in the mail. Now I have a picture worthy to post on this site!! Man what a day, I think I'm still shakin!!
