After an uneventful Friday hunt from a deer stand, my buddy and I decided to try our luck the next morning. We arose early Saturday morning to discuss our strategy. We got to our stands about 7am. I had no more sat down and got comfortable when out of the corner of my eye, I seen the biggest buck I had ever seen coming to my food plot. I seen the buck through the scope on my rifle, and I saw that the buck was at least an 8 pointer with good width and size. I was immediately excited as it was the biggest buck I had seen in the area and I wasn't about to let it go. I shot the deer and it dropped with one shot. I was so pleased with the kill. It was not a bad shot at about 150 yards through the neck. It turned out that the deer weighed 185lbs and had a 22 inch spread not bad for a North Carolina white tail.
