Thought i would share the luck i've been having. Sunday i caught a 6 pound channel, put it on my stringer and within an hour it swam off after bending my stringer straight. Tonight i caught about an 8 pounder, got it neer shore tried to grab him, took two hands, it gave on last giant jerk and snapped my line. My buddy was with me last saturday night and the same thing happened to him. I am getting a net before i go out again! I believe all the sharp, jagged rocks in the resevoirs are tearing our lines up.
Well, hopefully my luck turns around....lol.

Get a net, use flourocarbon 50# leaders because it is very tough and abraison resistant.

I suggest a rubber net when dealing with cats. Good luck!
