Got to go fishing with my buddy Luckey Wade for a few hours tonight. We each caught a flathead, and each missed a couple lol. Water temp was 53 degrees. Both fish were caught on live 6 inch shad, in 8 to 10 ft of water before 10pm. Storm clouds started moving in around 10:30pm, with cold wind gusts. Only had one more good run around 11:15 and I missed him. Then nothing but teasers till we left near 1 am.

Skip, those are a couple of good sized flatheads for this early in the year.

I dont even start to target flatheads untill late april early may, cause I cant catch them earlier.

Thanks for all the replies guys. The water is warming up faster than the last few years. But I'm holding my breath against a cold snap that sets us back to the 40's lol. Gonna try again tonight.

Nice fish. Good to see that they're biting in your neck of the woods.
