I though I'd make a music thread. Discuss anything about music, genres, bands you like, ect. I love listening to music, almost as much as fishing:cool2:. As for me I'm a complete metal head... bands like metallica, megadeth, mastodon... stuff like that:wink:.

They all get my bid although I do have a soft spot for pure 80's music!

    Just don't play the modern c**p !!

I've obviously had an influence on the next generation...... A.K.A. sweetsymphony76 (with the exception of Aerosmith)... but every now & again something just grabs my attention that I H-A-T-E to admit that I like.... So here's some "guilty pleasure" for y'all.

    New Zealand reggae anyone????

    Lyrics:

Sometimes when you lose you head
    when you get upset
We’re there to break your fall
    And theres no reason yet
    why they took your friends
    theres no reason at all.
    At all.
    No reason at all.
    At all
    No reason at...
When you want to rest your head
    On a shoulder that
You know wont turn on you
We’re all here till the end
    With you my friend
    There’s no reason to go
    There’s no reason to go
    To go
    We wont let you go
    Dont go
Not one day that you are here
    has been promised to you
(said by Kitchener Powell "The Wizard")
Not one day that you are here on this earth
    Has been promised to you
So make the most of everyday as if it was your last
And every breath, as if it was the same
    the same
as if it was the same
    the same
things will never be the same
    the same
We will never be the same
    The same
    the same
things will never be the same
    the same
    never be the same...
Not one day that you are here
    has been promised to you
So make the most of everyday
as if it was your last
    And every breath
as if it was the same

Walt, we must be brothers of a kindred spirit. I'm totaly with you on your choices. I love good ole classic and southern rock and blues. For something a lil harsher I'll crank up some Buckcherry or Nickleback, but for the most part its the classics.

I play in a band called Gnarly Love based in Lexington KY we have been rockin the scene for almost 20 years go to myspace/music type in Gnarly Love check it out for yourself ! It is a mix between Ramones/sabbath/garage metal . I must admit I am a campfire acoustic Neil Young kind of guy as well maybe I will make a few dollars on that project as well .Let me know what you think . We play mostly in the Lex . / Louisville area . We have a 7in record out and put out a cassete in the early 90's woll be putting out a CD in the fall . We also have a CD mixed down but not pressed with our previous drummer we will put out later . Oh yeah country blues classic rock I got it all in my collection that I have been compiling since the early 80's . Final note (pardon the pun ) Listen to the song EL PResidente for a moment to think about the state of our enviorment.

You've got some pretty good songs, Lance. I really liked El Presidente. It does have a ramone...ish kind of feel:big_smile:.

I've been listening to some Brad Paisly lately, it's actually pretty good. Never been a fan of country, but im starting to like some of it. I'm also a blues fan... Stevie Ray Vaughan, ZZ top(they're more rock i guess) stuff like that:cool2:.

i listen to bluegrass on the 1st and 4th saturday night of the month at the Chicken House Opry. the rest of the time it's gospel. mostly old hymms. before i got old it was humble pie. black sabboth, cream, pink floyd, jethro tull.bugs henderson, hendrix ,mart robbins ,hank snow, farren young, hank sr. buck owens, chet atkins. willie nelson(when he was young) tennesee ernie ford. mott the hopple, jefferson airplane, frank zappa, jerry lee lewis ,johnny lee wills .etc...etc... hows that for diversity. oh by the way here in the ozarks you see people that you would think couldn't pick there nose or carry a tune in a bucket that could smoke the average mixed and remixed tunes you here from the radio. there is a group from springfeild missouri called New Blue Yonder. they are a 4 peice all girl band. there fiddle player could probably walk on any stage in the world and wow the crowd with a fiddle /violin.
