The Mulberries are ripe and the Channels are eating them like hogs. Use liver or dip bait with black tubes or you will catch to many Carp. I caught 16 fish in about 2 hours this evening all where the berries were falling. Could not get a bite anywhere else.

I heard they like Mulberries but don't know where any grow close to the water around here. You think they still might be good bait if the trees not by the water chumming it.

I found a mulberry tree leaning out into the water and caught 5 channel and a 16lb flat next to it last weekend. The flat probably came to eat little channel or carp that were up there feeding. The mulberries tasted good too.

Never tryed it but chumming with them might work. I think if I went to the trouble of picking enough to chum with I would just end up eatting them myself....They are really good with fresh cream on them.

I have thought about adding them to home made dip bait!

It's not so much the mulberries that draws cats to where the tree hangs
over the water as it is the swarm of carp that vaccums up the purple
morsels. Them half pound second year carp stuffed with mulberries are
excellent entrees for the discerning twenty pound catfish. A predator
will be where fish are concentrated for any reason. Target-rich field.
Also, eater sized cats will be at the scene gorging on berries since
the berries don't swim very fast. Less work, more food, good times!
Go out and find your own private fish feeder, folks!
