Mud River WV

    I have been taking some nice Small Mouth, Striper, and Saugeye out of the Mud river the last couple weeks. Haven't seen a Catfish from there for quite a while.

    The Water is bathwater warm and VERY low. Upsteam of the Russell Creek Bridge you are had pressed to find it any deeper than 3ft. with a foot and a half being the norm.

    But, if you can find the shad you will find the Bass and Saugeye.

    Spinners and jigs are doing the trick, minnows are real slow, small shad are smoking cause that is what they are eating right now.
