Mud cat/Or bullhead as some people call them

    Chicken livers, night crawlers, crawdads ide say about anything you can put on a hook ive caught them on hotdogs and bread to. But bets bait ide say for me is chicken livers.

    When I used to catch them as a kid in Ohio, I never used anything but nightcrawlers.

    Nightcrawlers are the bait of choice for bullhead/mudcats

    Grasshoppers and small pieces of cut bait fished on the bottom will work too...They will eat anything they can get in thier mouths..

    everytime ive used chicken livers ive caught lots of yellow bellys .

    My son and I fish a couple local ponds for black bullhead.We always use hot dogs with great success.Nightcrawlers work great too but I always have hot dogs in the house so it's more of a convenience thing.
