I will be visiting the Mt. Pleasant area of Texas in about a month. I was just curious if anyone knew of any good public catfishing spots around these areas. Ill be fishing for whatever big fish are available on whatever type of water. Any help would be appreciated!

You will be right in the middle of several nice north east Texas lakes. All public lakes with great access. Lake Wright Patman to the east, Lake Fork to the west and Lake Bob Sandlin just southwest of Mt. Pleasant. Never fished any of these but I understand the catfishing in Lake Fork is pretty good. All of these lakes are not much more than an hours drive or less from Mt. Pleasant. Good luck and have a safe, fun trip.

lake o' the pines and cooper. my favorite lake for big bass and nice cats would have to be fork ,just don't go on weekends. cooper is full of stumps but has good boat lanes and great fishing. lake o' the pines is close and has excellent bass, crappie and cats .
