I am using a mr big fish south bend rod--6.5' heavy action....any one else have one of these rods? it seams to be a very well built rod..kind of short but it has a good feel to it mounted with a 6000 ambassadour reel

4/0 Kahle, I have 4 of the South Bend "Mudville Catmaster" rods in 7' heavy action and I really like them. They are light, strong and best of all cheep! I think I gave $18 each for them. The only think that has happen to them is the green paint on the end of the rod faded away after a couple of years. Other than that they are still holding in there. I landed a 38lb flathead on one of them Friday week ago. I'm not sure about the model you have but there is nothing wrong with a South Bend rod in my book.
