Any harm in spraying some engine degreaser on the powerhead and hosing it off? I want to keep the inside of the cowling and the motor clean (looks sweet after I painted it as part of the rebuild last summer) but just wondering if there would be any problems with the power pack, etc. getting wet. I'd just use the garden hose, not a pressure washer.

I wouldn't think there would be any problems since it is a boat motor, but better safe than sorry.

    Thanks!

I clean mine with cheap brake cleaner from wal-mart. You don't want to use anything caustic but I have used degrease and hosed it off with just the force of the running water.

Thanks Bubba! I'll just use the degreaser for now, don't want to risk my purty paint with the brake cleaner just yet. She's pretty clean since it was just rebuilt and painted and I want to keep it that way:wink:
