These are some of the pics I took last night fishing down below Ironton,OH Boat ramp & across the river by the Russell,KY bridge. I did some editing to some of the pics to give them a little different touch. I hope you all like them...BTW,the last one I call Twilight Time by Russell Bridge is my fav. Its a pretty wild picture...LOL! ENJOY!!! Oh Yeh,I caught 1 bluegill and my back started hurting too bad to fish...

    they are really good.
I especially like the tugboat picture. Reminds me of a time back home on the river.
Thanks for sharing and keep them coming.

    Thank You!!!
I hope to get back out in the morning if my back/neck will let me. If I do get out I'm going before daylight so I hope to be able to snap up some more pics. I'm also gonna try and get a better camera with a better zoom. This one I have is good for some stuff but I want to invest in a better one.

Hope you're able to get back out there again tomorrow and catch some more ... a lunker, even! Best of luck to you and post more photos!

Overall, not too bad. Nothing over 7lbs yet but the action on the river has been pretty good. I'm getting ready to head back to the same place and try it again. I'll post when I get back in.

I only took a couple pics this morning and the batteries went dead. I could only tolerate fishing for a couple hours until my back said time to go...I did get a few nice runs and caught 1 drum about a pound. The only bait I took was crawlers and wax worms. If the pics are any good i'll post them,if not i'll get more later.

Hey John do you have anybody to help you get some shad, or skippies? I am sure no authority on catching blues or flatties cause we aint got none up here but i would think it would improve your chances of catching a big cat.

Skippies = Nope...A local bait store sells them when he has them and that is hardly ever. Never had any luck catching them either.
Shad= I have a cast net that I can't use. I've tried stocking up and freezing them but never got a bite on frozen shad.
I usually use creek chubs or bluegills for live bait. I usually take a small pole and fish for gills while i'm at the river. Sometimes I can get my Cuz or another buddy to get shad but not very often.
I'd say you're right,i'd probably have better luck but I have to fish with what I can get.:confused2:

    John,
Bluegill heads seem to attract the bigguns around here.
Hopin and prayin your back/neck will allow you to fish in comfort again soon!

Bluegill heads are awesome flattie bait in a couple spots I fish at on the river.
Thanks for the prayers...Good chance i'll be going to ER tonight when Regina gets in from work. I haven't had back pain like this since '03,before my surgery. I just hope it eases up,I don't wanna be laid up this Holiday weekend and the Henderson gathering is like 2 weeks away and i'd hate to miss that one.
Here is a couple pics Regina took yesterday morning before the batteries went dead...The last one is me tryin to catch bait...LOL!

Hey, John... Please tell Regina for me that her pictures are very good! I especially like the way she caught the sky in that 2nd one.
I've only ever caught a couple of flatheads and they were both on crawlers. Usually the blues come after my line... lol... just wish they'd send their bigger friends over!

Keep in touch about your back, okay? I've had my moments with a herniated disc in lower back and can't imagine havin that plus the neck trouble at the same time. Take good care.

My buddy caught about a 5-6lb flattie at the back water on a crawler.Pretty cool! I'll tell her.Thank You,I thought she did good also.
I wish the blues would hit mine, not too many above the Greenup Locks.I catch more flatties than channels in the places I fish but usually the channels are big and some Huge flatties have been pulled from these spots.
My back is bothering me where I had the fusion surgery. Not sure whats going on?:confused2::crazy::lol: Its eased up a little, took a couple different meds that have eased it up a tad.
Thanks for the Prayers,I have a feeling that now with Medicare I'll be able to find Dr's that may possibly fix both somewhat.Maybe just maybe i'll be able to live a more pain free life rather than the opposite.
Hopefully i'll be adding more pics soon! Stay tuned.............:cool2::wink::big_smile::lol:
