Me and my dad got at the upper landing around 10 got to our normal spot and as soon as we got the rods out good the wind started. U know how it gets up there, but it started blowing so bad we had to leave our spot only catching one fish around 5 pounds. So we went back towards the upper landing and went to the dam (the one that between the rec lake and the big lake) and anchored off there in about 20 foot of water. we stayed there for probably 3 hours and got one 20 pounder. It was a nice fish and fault hard. It wasnt huge but it made the day worth it.

The main thing is that y'all didn't give up, CJ. You still caught some fish.

(Hey! How come you're not in school?) A 20-pounder is a pretty nice fish on any lake, especially when the wind is blowing like it does at Monty. Congrats :smile2:

I wouldn't be disappointed with a 20lb fish at all. I know that may not be a great fish at Santee but it's a good fish almost anywhere. Sometimes it pays to stick it out in tough conditions.

I think he was fishing yesterday. Monticello was as slick as glass today.
