monster flathead catfish in west pa!

    i don't know how everyone else is doing but this will most diff get you off your ass and go put time in on the water. this guy was fishing for wiper's using a big swimbait all he said is "a west pa river" of course.:confused2::smile2:

    opps hope this work's this time. i forgot it weight 40 lbs and was 50 in long!!!!!
    and he was fishing from shore took him 40 min to land. and it's still alive and swimming!!:tounge_out::smile2::cool2::smile2::smile2:

    i think there are even bigger in one of the three river's just never caught, atleast that's what i tell myself and the wife..lol

    Thats a beauty, at 50" that thing was really skinny at 40#. It should have gone 50# plus at that length. Thanks for posting it.

    skinny for sure i got one at 46.5 '' and it weighed 56.5 ibs must of been an eyeball measurment :smile2:

    If it came from one of the western Pa. rivers it explains the low weight for the length. Our Flatheads are just waking up, the water temp is still in the low to mid 50's so that fish was just starting to feed. Another month and I bet it hits near 50#!

    A 50 inch flat should be at least 50 pounds.

    Its funny how much they vary in body shape, kinda like people! Mine was out of shallow water sandbar in the Ohio River, it looked like a huge football.

    Kinda like people indeed. You can have a 12 year old flaty that is 20# or 80#. Just like you can have a 30 year old man as big as a NFL offensive tackle or a guy Tans size. its genetics
