Guys I had one of the most memorable nights of my life last night on the Susquehanna main stem. Fishing was slow but i had a gut feeling about this spot and at about 10:30, BOOM. Hard hit and a slow run on a huge chub. My heart was pounding as i worked it in, the whole way in i knew it was gonna be huge. I've fished hard and long and this is the one i've been looking for my friends. When she surfaced i almost had a heart attack and couldn't breathe til she was in the boat. After many many pictures and high fives with my fishin partner, we weighed her in at a whopping 43 pounds. Easily my personal best and proof that the Susquehanna is home to a few records and a fantastic flathead fishery. What an emotional experience, you gotta love it! Hope this charges all you PA guys up! I'm also very happy to say that she swam away as strong and healthy as she was before i caught her. My hands were shaking for about an hour haha. Look out state record... here i come.

The size looks about right for a 43lb... did you get a length and girth?

It's not the best scale in the world but i've checked it and it's usually pretty close. I'm looking into getting a higher quality scale. State record is 48 so it could have been close...

Unfortunately i didnt have my tape on me... i was pretty upset about it. I could have used some fishing line and measured it later but i wanted to get her back in the water... Hopefully i'll catch her again
