had to get my oil changed today and on the way back stopped to look at the river right below the locks and the water was up a good bit. absolutely no current and no gates open at all. looked like they were still working on the lock. they have loaded barges tied up to every place they could tie them up to waiting for pick up. never seen that much barge traffic this late in year. saw alot of minnow activity along the shoreline while i was there. strange thing i noticed was that there usually is a channel marker with a sign on it stating you can fish no closer than that to the lock. well it wasn't there at all and saw one downstream further that did not have the sign on it.

Hit the Mon river again today with my father in law. You just couldn't keep the fish off the hook. We got three walleyes, probably 25 bass, I jigged up a small flatty, and a drum. All on bucktails tipped with baby chubs. Gonna try and go again Sunday. DSCF1414 (Small).jpg

I was down at the river today tossing a few jigs from the bank. I caught
a sauger and a drum, it was colder than a well diggers a$$ out there.
Time to bust out the ice gear.
