fish geek came up to buy some motor parts from me yesterday. we used this as an excuse to fish for some flatheads. i took him to one of my favorite creeks. the river was on the rise a bit early in the day but was down when we arrived at the spot. the creek was flowing with a great mud line though and our expectations were high. we were slowly disappointed though and didnt get a hit for an hour or more. finally my clicker started to give way to an unknown taker. i was able to set the hook and it felt like a 15 or so. didnt have it on long and the hook pulled free:angry:. that got our hopes up that they mite start feeding. same as earlier though and we sat for another 2 uneventful hours munching on his pretzel sticks and sucking sodas. as it started to get dark the anticipation started again but this time they were on the feed! we proceeded to get bit till about 10:30 loosing some winning some. both cut and live baits presented just a few feet from shore did the trick. we ended up landing 4-12-15-15 & a 22#ers. we also missed or came unhooked on 4/5 fish too. not the best trip we have had but well worth the effort. it was good to fish with matt again and we had fun.
