    Mnemonic displays are ways to remember things without actually remembering the original. Often used in education or work. One I had from Vet School was:

    On old Olympic towering tops, a Finn and German vend some hops.

    What are some you remember or used to get from one place to the other. The one above is from a neuroanatomy class. Tell me what it is and
    I'll buy ya an ice cream cone. Vanilla with chocolate topping. Regular cone with a napkin. I'll even wipe your chin for ya.(but nothing else, have Cook do that for ya)

    I have a few, but not enough time to post them all (home on my lunch hour). Here's the one that sticks in my mind the most.

    HOMES: Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie and Superior (The Great Lakes)

    John,

    You know you're in trouble when you can't remember the mnemonic displays or devices, is that the right word? See I'm in trouble...........:smile2:

    Short and long term memory loss is a sign of dementia, and I think I may be into the first stages. :smile2: The only one I can recall is the typing one that uses all the letters..................wait, no I can't even recall that one. I'm in deep doo doo. :eek:oooh:

    Take care.

    I bet nobody gets this one. Was taught to me by a math teacher.
    "Olly Had A Hairy Ol A$$"

    What is it?
    (HINT:think about the Trigonometry functions.)

    How about "Roy G. Biv"?
    Anybody know what that stands for?

    My sixth grade English teacher, god rest her soul, taught my class a way to remember certain words for some kinda test...(don't remember what that group of words is even called :roll_eyes:) But she said, "Say 'he, she, it' really fast out loud and you'll never forget." It worked...ha.

    Answer: Rules for solving for angles of a right triangle.
    SIN = Opposite/Hypotenuse
    COS = Adjacent/Hypotenuse
    TAN = Opposite/Adjacent

    Sounds like Tanya is due for a Trig. refresher. I'll give you partial credit cuz you got the other one correct.
