when you mix oil and gas for a 2 stroke what ratio do you use? My motor is a mariner 15 about 29 years old, I am planning on taking it out in the next week and wasn't sure. This is my first boat and never had a 2 cycle before. Thanks for any info.

Any 2 stroker outboard after 1964 uses a 50:1 mix that is 1 pint of TCW-3 rated outboard oil mixed with 6 gallons of fuel rated 87 octane or better will do the job.

Well, when i mix it, i usually mix it about 60:1 roughly (i mix my 50:1 a little light on the oil), but my 2 year old yamaha outboard is made to run 100:1. I figure more oil is better, so i dont run 100:1 (i'm used to the older outboards where we ran 50:1). For your motor, go with what bubbakat says, and mix 50:1.
