Missouri River Oct 18 results

    The big'n was 44lbs. He was video'd being released as many would not believe the story of catching a 44 and releasing (friends and family mostly). The remainder keepers ranged from a few pounds to 16. Enough for a nice fry.

    BTW - The shad were everywhere. I can't ever recall as many shad popping the water as they were yesterday. In some places, it sounded like popcorn.

    sounds like a great day out on the river. what part of the river were u on? im gonna head out this week sometime and would like to know where a good place to put in would be at.

    Put in at Washington and went down river a ways. I talked with a couple of local older fishermen and they have been catching fish from Chamois to St. Charles so we went somewhere in the middle.

    Nice fish glad to see someone finally catch a goodin on the missouri.What kinda of structure were you fishing and what did you catch it on bait wise.

    Cut shad was the bait. As far as structure, just the usual submerged sand bar. Really nothing special on the location, just in the right place at the right time I guess.
