You can bank fish from Riverfront Park, LaBenite Park, Cooley Lake Access and probably a few other places around town.

If you do not want to fish the river, lake jacomo is a good place to fish from the bank.

I use to go to farm houses along the river and ask for permission to walk their levees to the river and fish. Make sure to offer to pick up trash etc., it always helps! You could also offer them some fish if they give you access. This way you can get to some more remote, less fished areas... but be prepaired for a long hull with all of your gear!

There's also Kaw Point...which although it is technically in KS, you can cast into the MO river. At least that's what a DNR warden told me. Then again, he might've been trying to set me up.

I'll probably end up buying a KS non-resident permit because I can't catch $#@* at Lake Jacomo. Whether at the dam, the marina, the south end, or liggett cove -- I fished there a LOT last summer with very little to show for it. The raccoons there are relentless but entertaining. Pretty soon they'll learn how to carjack. I figure I'll spend most of my fishing this year at Riverfront or Kaw Point unless I can find someone nice enough to ride in their boat.

Try under the Fairfax Bridge by the Argosy Casino. At Parkville and the English Landing Park you can fish where the creek dumps into the Mo. River. There are numerous places to fish the Mo. River if you do a little driving around. I used to fish under the I-635 and I-435 bridges years ago without any trouble also. Hope that helps?
