it seems so strange to hear about the rut going on, some deer around here have even lost their horns.

The buck to doe ratio here in central Va is so out of wack, I saw bucks in rut every Sat including the last Sat Jan 5th. But the more I think about it I kind of enjoy the prolonged rutting activity. I would typically see twenty five doe's per antlered buck. I also see week old fawns chugging milk from mamma slick in mid August. These are the deer I want for the freezer come October!!!!!!!!

I spent some 12 day's hunting with my cousin, the hunting club took about 19 or 20 deer in the last 12 day's.
A 7 point that weighted in around 274 lbs and a doe yesterday that weighted 170 lbs.

I have never seen so many beagles chase deer?

And they love to get their trucks stuck:smile2:

Tender loins and saw mill gravy.
