Is there a Lock & Dam between Columbia Bottom Ramp and the STL Arch? If any, my guess is at the canal?

Update: I looked at Google Earth, and looks to be a lock? Is it difficult to get through? Do I need a Radio?

We went thru there the other weekend and the guy on the wall came out and was talking to us. He made the comment that they really appreciated the fact that I had invested in a VHF.

Saw that new Hewes on the water yesterday below Melvin Price. That thing sure looks like it rides great on the water...

    Okie,

Yes, it does ride nice, very nice. In fact, I don't even slow down for Barge waves. When I had my SeaArk boat (18') I had to slow down or it beat ya to death! :eek:oooh:

I am very happy with it....I kind of wish I got the 225 hp motor. But, isn't that always the case. Oh well, after a few years I may consider something different.

What boat were you driving? Were you anchored near the Alton Dam, or about 1/4 mile tops from the dam rapids?
