Well I called Jay yesterday and we went to Milford last night.
First thing out of the gate I backed my boat into the water without any leash or tie down and sent it out 30 yards, didn't have my head in the game. There was another boat putting in at the same time (luckily) and a young guy with them dove in and swam out to it and drug it in. What a guy, a little more work than necessary since they were putting in, but what a guy.
After that and the lake being up several feet I was concerned this might be a disaster trip. Spent an hour looking for shad and found 0. Luckily I got 8 decent shad locally before I left.
We got started fishing about 7 and anchored for close to an hour with only lite taps and no fish.
Then we started to drift, and I started catching them. I had a limit and one over 10#(not sure exact weight forgot my scale in the truck) before sunset. Jay on the other hand, well to put in his terms, "He was pulling a Bennett." We fished for three and half hours before Jay got his first and he ended up with two the whole night. I ended up with eight and two over 10#. Not a gang buster night at all but over all a great trip.
I don't know what it is about fishing, because Jay put us on the fish without a doubt. They just didn't like his bait last night. I relished it because I know it doesn't and won't happen very often.
