It is a dark camera pic of a channel cat we caught saturday night at Mark Twain Lake, we put it back without weighing it, later we heard the Missouri alternative record channel is 29 pounds 14 oz. I bet we were close, my buddy has caught a 25 and 26 and said this one was a lot bigger, the girth was unreal---we caught 4 channels and a 8 lb flathead also, crappies were not biting, the lake was high and very muddy, we still had a blast.

we used goldfish mainly, few hotdogs and even had a few nightcrawlers strung on, we had live bait on 3 days that never got touched, also worms on 24 hours--I am sure we caught the big cat on goldfish, it was between noon and 4 pm when we caught it--not overnight.

Sweet!! thats a HUGE Channel.. I bet the fight was one for the record books itself... Ive been hearing stories of a Lake here in Indiana where they have been catching large channels.. I hope to get one near #20 sometime this year.

Soounds like you had one heck of an outting.. Keep it up and keep posting them fish..
