The last few weeks I have made a switch from catching channels, to fishing for flatheads. channels have been spawning, and the rains have had the rivers flowing hard, so I have been on the delaware and the kaw with limited success. Today me and my wife headed out to fish some stationary water again. Since its getting warm, we put a strict limit on our selves, only 16-18 inch fish would be kept. Well the weather today was stellar, light wind, and low humidity. We didnt come home with a limit, but we had a good time, and caught enough fish for dinner and then some. was nice to be catching fish again rather than just fishing....

I was fishing deep this time. The shallow bite seems to be over, for me anyway.

That was what I was thinking too. My BP flat is a pitiful 11 pounds, still waiting for that good one to show up.
