Me and Mellon went fishing this moring, the first business was to catch a bunch of shad for the freezer we done that by filling a 5 gallon bucket..Now for the bad part we got skunked...And then Mellon who aint exactly a whiz at throwing a net, decided to throw mine one more time..Only problem was he forgot to put the rope on his wrist..He was standing there wondering how all that rope was in the water when he realized what he did...He even told me it would be a cold day in hell when he replaced it:angry:

It could have been worse, your rod and reel, tackle box,or he could have hooked you.I'd make him buy you a new net before you go fishing again.

It takes awhile to fully develop ones cast-net throwing skills. This is a perfect oppurtunity to go over some basics. Step one: put rope around wrist and pull tight.LOL Sorry to hear about your net Jack.

The Mellon strikes again. Why didn't you hand him his flashlight and send a$$ to the water to retrieve it. Jack, you must be a great man to have so much patience. If you were to grade Mellon on everything he has learned so far, and where he should be by now, what grade would you give him?

This was sort of funny. Today was the 1st day I had ever thrown the net w/ sucess. I was pretty happy w/ myself. I was catching Shad & Saugeye like crazy/ We were going to fill 3 bucekts up. Jack started throwing it, then I took over, then we fished a while, then he threw some more, then he gave it to me. I threw it, looked down (we we on a very large spillway) & wondered "Why is there so much rope in the water?" Then I realized what had happened. Snaggin the net was impossible. Tons of water of rushing out of the dam, I tried runnong the bottom to snag it but it was useless.

Good news: We have tons of Shad (garbage full FULL)
Bad News: Mileage Drove Between Flat & I: Aprox 180 miles
Bad News: Lost 1 Cast Net
    Bad News: SKUNKED!

Oh well, it could have been worse...... IT COULD HAVE BEEN MY CAST NET!
