Mellon caught a 25-lb bluecat last weekend, but we have yet to see the pic.......Where is it buddy?
Here ya go buddy. I was happy to get it. It fought like crazy due to the extreme current we were in.

Bill in SC
I kept waiting for Mellon to post that pic, it was the only fish that day, water was at 34+ ( cinci gauge) and still rising and it came on a frozen skippie. Water was rippen where we caught it and it took quite a while to land him. He did a great job getting him near the boat so I could get him in the boat ( I forgot the net....)
Congrats on a nice blue!!
Good fish congrats. Thanks for the pic.
See, I didn't think that whole "mellon curse" stuff was all that real. Nice fish.
Forgot to say, it was actualyl only 24 #'s or closer to even 23 1/2. We sued a couple diff scales.
Skiphead was the bait.
I just wasn't too enthused about posting it. I have been doing some searches on Ohio River netters and just got depressed about the whole entire idea of catting on the Ohio.
Nice fish Bryan.. Im looking forward to going soon to the Ohio as well.. rollo
Nice work Mellon!
don't evan get me started. Out trip to louisville there was litterally nets all down this one particular bank. We evan saw the guys pulling the nets in and taking fish. They were pretty far away from us so we couldnt tell how big the fish were. The part that really gets me about this other than them taking trophy fish is that they place these HUGE nets in Good fishing spots. We went over by the nets and It was a nice rocky bank that dropped into about 55-60 feet of water which is the type of spots we were looking for. I would never do something like this but I told my fishing partner I would just love to see someone throw out a richter anchor and take off through every one of those nets that were strung out right there. It would absolutely make my day!! Drag those sobs somewhere and burnem. Every fish taken out is another one you and I will never every catch. And never catch any of her spawnlings either. Just think, the shiver on the river was held right there and big fish was 70lbs. It would just bout drive a cpr fan to fight a man for taking trophys out like that. Me anyways!! N yes that was a very nice fish and caught on a skippy head doesnt surprise me. Thats what we been gettin ours on to. Hope you get a bigger one next time man!
Bryan thanks for the pics. WTG. Nice fish. Congrats.
Nice Blue Mellon. Congrats on the catch bro... Hoping to get me a few blues after i pick up another boat next month...
