Wish I was goin with ya, I finally caught a trout yesterday, trolling. Got him on a Mepps spinner. Same place in the lake that I missed one last week. We were trolling, and I felt like I was getting hits on both rods, thought I was draggin bottom. Then figured I had a snag but the trout jumped so I knew I had one. Thought I'd lose him like last week too. It was a good day for that, but otherwise a bad one. I casted out first cast with a new kastmaster lure, and it went about 100 yds. I was so impressed and proud until I discovered the knot had come loose. Had lots of line and leader breaks too, lost a lot of tackle. But it was my first trout. I have tried everything. Just cant' seem to get em.

We had a Great day this morning. Crab beat me but I did manage my PB Rainbow Trout. We limited out at 9 (3 allowed per person) and threw a bunch back and lost several.....:wink::smile2:

It was about 28-30*. It felt colder than that. I was dressed for it though, you can probably tell by the pics...:wink::smile2:
My hands froze, my gloves got wet soon as I got there and my hands stayed cold the whole time. Other than that it wasn't too bad.
Its only 34* now and we got there a little after 7am.

Hey John & Crab,

That is a nice mess of Trout you guys got there. I have to get my gear together to do some Trout fishing around here.

They are getting them around here at two of the local Lakes (San Pablo Res. & Lake Chabot) anywhere from "6 to 15 pounds"!

6-15 lbs is huge! These are gonna last me forever and they were just decent sized. I couldn't imagine 6-15lbers....:wink::smile2:

Hey Catfishjohn---I couldn't help but notice that you mentioned something about straightening out your back---you been having back problems? I certainly feel for you. I have had some bad experiences in the past myself. Glad to hear that you were able to get out and have a good time!

Yep, I've had L4-L5 fusion surgery and broke my neck in 2000. I'm so screwed up they said it'll never be right. Sometimes I feel like getting out but here recently I've been feeling like not getting out too much. I love to fish and it kills me when I can't go!:sad2:

Man I certainly know what that feels like. I have had 5 surgeries on my back, the most recent was a fusion at L5-S1. I am lucky, though, because after the fusion I have been really doing pretty good (pain free for almost 2 years). It actually changed my life in many ways---one of which is that it was a big reason I went back into school to become a physical therapist.
