My back has finally straightened out enough to get out for a few hours. We are going to a private lake thats stocked with trout and channel cats. No, not a pay pond, I promise.:smile2:
I'm also gonna take a cat pole to try for some eater channels also.
Wish us luck, I'll need it!!!:big_smile:

I'll give a report when we get back in so stay tuned!!!:big_smile:

Also this will be my first Trout fishing outing since I was a kid...Hope I can catch at least a couple!!! LOL!

Hey guys thanks for the luck! Im an old pro at trout fishing,we use 8 lb line and 1/64 ounce jig tipped with a mill or wax worm on a special float. We also use the Berkley trout dough bait it works well. But I prefer the jigs because you can put them back with those if you want. I also tie a #12 trebel on my jig for a stinger to hold on to the big ones. These are supposed to be real nice trout they put in this time so we will need the net and the stinger hooks hopefully. Ive never been out there that I didnt limit out.:big_smile: They will be pics tomorrow afternoon for sure.

WoHoo!!! I can't wait!!! Just gotta get that one little problem taken care of and we'll be off fishing!!!:big_smile:

John,
Good luck today. I hope you catch a bunch of trout and cats. If you do, post some pictures for our enjoyment. I have never saw a live trout, so a good picture of one of them would be cool. Good luck, rspd507

Will do my best to get pics up of them!!!:big_smile:

Nice pond, was it cold out there today.
Looks like it wasn't to bad out there.

It was about 28-30*. It felt colder than that. I was dressed for it though, you can probably tell by the pics...:smile2:
My hands froze, my gloves got wet soon as I got there and my hands stayed cold the whole time. Other than that it wasn't too bad.
Its only 34* now and we got there a little after 7am.

Nice job on the catch---trout season here opens March 29th and I can't wait. Got a new fly rod that i am itchin' to try.

Hey Catfishjohn---I couldn't help but notice that you mentioned something about straightening out your back---you been having back problems? I certainly feel for you. I have had some bad experiences in the past myself. Glad to hear that you were able to get out and have a good time!

Thanks!!!
Yep, I've had L4-L5 fusion surgery and broke my neck in 2000. I'm so screwed up they said it'll never be right. Sometimes I feel like getting out but here recently I've been feeling like not getting out too much. I love to fish and it kills me when I can't go!:sad2:
