Saterday I bought a Mccullic outboard motor. I took it out on the river that night and it ran great. I was just wondering if anyone else has one and what they think of them.

    Do you mean McCulloch outboard?

I had one some years ago and it ran fine. However, if it is what I am thinking of, they haven't been made in many years.

If you have any trouble, it may be hard to find parts or someone to work on it. I had carberator trouble with mine an eventually threw it in the trash.

I have the same motor - early 60's model 7.5 hp. It came with a small boat I bought up in Wisconsin 4-5 years back. It will start and run like a jem, but it won't go into gear in forward or reverse. I didn't need it as I had a late 90's model 9.9 I use on the small boat so I just stored it away in the attic. I figured I may tinker with it some day, but I'm confident that day will never come:lol:
