I may have caught the Illinois state record drum the other nite while catfishing at my local lake. It bottomed out my 15lb scale and then bottomed out another guys 30 lb scale. We estimated it at 30-35lbs. May have been more. I ended up giving it to him. I believe it has already been eaten. Found out today from my brother the state record is 35lbs! I took a few pics but didn't figure it would be a state record. I thought the record was around 50. The world record is 54 something. Well here is the pic.

Wow, that's one huge drum, I know Indiana's state record is around 30lbs, but I've never seen a picture of one that big, biggest I've ever got was like 3lbs.

I'm ready Bearcat. I thought I had one heck of a cat when I hooked that drum! I can go just about any nite but tuesdays and Thursdays. I goin to college and have some summer courses I am taking those nites. Will also have to see what the homework load is. They try to get a whole semester out of you in less than 3 months! I sure I can find a little time to do a little catfishin' though!

yea i guess theres no fish out there that some one wont eat! ive seen people keep eels and suckers. i saw a recipe for carp and i know it really popular in europe. so i guess any kind of fish is fair game.

thats one big drum! congrats, looks like you need a bigger scale.
