WENT OUT ON THE MAUMEE LAST NITE OUT OF MJT. GOT A 8LB FLAT AND A 5LB CHANNEL. CHANNEL TOOK A 6INCH GILL UNDER A FLOAT AND THE FLAT TOOK CUT SHAD OFF THE BOTTOM.

Congrats on the fish. We went out Friday night and I forgot the scale so couldn't weigh em had to guess. We got 5 flats and channel. 2 flats in the 25-30 range and 3 flats 8-15. The channel was about 4lbs and we nicknamed him bait. We got ours on bluegill and crappie fished no deeper than 1 1/2 ft.

THATS AWESOME--- BAIT! 4 LB CHANNEL! I JUST READ SOMETHING IN IN-FISHERMAN THAT SAID A 55IN FLAT COULD EAT A WORLD RECORD BASS. ALL IN THEORY, BASED ON MOUTH GAPE. THE CHANNEL I CAUGHT DIDN'T HAVE A BIG HEAD FOR A 5LBER AT ALL. THE MOUTH WAS ABOUT 4IN. WIDE AND HE STILL HAD A GO AT A 6IN GILL. I'VE HAD OTHER SMALL CHANNELS ATTACK GILLS THAT SEEMED ALMOST TOO BIG FOR THEM.
