Matching a rod with a reel!

    what would be a good rod to use with the quantum iron i was thinking a tiger mh but i was wanting a heavy rod any help would be greatly apperacited

    The tiger would be a good choice, also a quantum bigcat would be great.

    the medium heavy tiger rod is a pretty heavy rod. it has a ton of backbone but a fairly flexible tip. in my opinion its about as close to perfect a rod you can get for big cats. i have 2 of them(one of them i havent even gotten to use yet!) matched with penn 209's.wouldnt trade em for anything.

    Dusty, I believe I would go with a "Big Cat" rod and match up those Quantum products. I have two of those combos and they work great together. I like the looks and reports I've heard from the "Tiger" rods also. The "Big Cat" rod is almost $20 less than the "Tiger" rod so you could buy extra hooks,sinkers, or bait with the difference. Remember, this is just my opinion.
