I dont like putting 7000's on GlowStick or King Kat Pro's, but looks like I'm going to have to. The bad thing is that I wont use any rod for more than 3 trips. I am done buying rods/reels for a couple years..... I sware......:p I dont even want to think about the 10 reels & 10 rods that I've sold in the last year & half.

Flathunter & I used to buy tackles after we got skunked & were in bad moods. Man, I sure hope we dont get skunked much this year!

The only problem I see is why do you only have 20-lb test on a couple of those 7000c3's....If they are strictly for flatheads I would go with a minimun of 25, preferably 30-lb.

GOOD GRIEF BRYAN! :crying: (throughing my arms in the air) There is NO WAY I am gonna keep up with all that tackle...broke now from trying to keep up with ya...LOL Sounds like your set though and I even understand why you stuck the 7000 with 20 lb on King Kat Pro..They cast fantastic for an 8' rod...your just wantin to reach out...waaaaaaaaaaayyyyy out!;)

Yea Jack I know what you mean & I'm sitting here w/ two spools of Berkley Big Cat 30# line. I just figured the 20# Cajun was enough, I may change if something happends.

I run 2 Penn 320 Gt2's on Basspro Catmaxx Heavy Action 7'6" Rods. Unbeatable Combo. You guys should really try those catmaxx rods. I was leary of them at first, but seeing as how my wife works at Bass Pro and I get a substantial discount I had to give em a whirl. Boy am I glad I did.

BASS...... What are you doing man? Are you turn coating on me?

CATMAXX Rods: This is just my opinon, but here goes. Are they a good rod? Yes. Do I like them as well as Quantum Big Cats? No. I have had at least two of the Cat Maxx Rods. If Qunatum ever stopped making the Big Cats, I may go to them. For one as Flathunter pointed out when he was looking at one a couple weeks ago they (at least the new ones) dont have a trigger. My concern is the fact that the Heavy action 8 footers ones are only rated for up to 5oz. I like the Big Cat Heavy becasue they are rated up to 8oz. But I tell ya one thing, Flathunter agrees w/ you about the Penns. He likes them much better than Abu 6000's, 6500's, 7000's & even better than the Abu 10000.

Great set-ups. I use a little heavier line for our conditions.

Itch..... dont think for a second having stuff like that make sme get big fish. Every cat I've ever caught could have been caught on a zebco 202 most likely.
