As stated in my earlier post, I'd look this up and report back.

During this month Mars will be showing up in the eastern sky at approx. 10 p.m. and reach it azimuth at 3 a.m. It will be closest to the earth as it has even been in 5,000 years. On August 27, it will be 34,649,589 miles from the earth. It will be the brightest object in the sky and will look as large as the full moon which it will be close to.

The next time it will ever be this close to earth again is in the year 2287.

If anyone wants to see the e-mail presentation that I received send me a pm with your e-mail address and I'll forward it on to you. It is a power point presentation.
