Were can we find detailed maps of the local lakes? Does anybody use the HotSpots on your GPS? If so how do you like the program?

i got a hotmaps dvd because it was cheaper then the memory card and you can just manually put them on your gps. my gps broke so i haven't been able to take it out on the lake but just lookin at the hotmaps on the computer it looks really good. it seems great for showing depths, drop offs and river channels. the only thing i don't like about it is that it does not have john redmond resevoir. the dvd is only about 20 bucks.

Anybody remember where them posts from that young fella who was a
mapmaker by trade went to? About a year ago, wasn't it? Computerized
map with 1ft elevation/depth markings for several Kansas lakes with
more to be mapped directly...GPS waypoints included for sunken brush
and other landmarks of interest. Sounded real slick.

If you are around the Wichita area, go to City Blue, or Kansas Blueprint located downtown.

They have sportsman maps of all the local lakes, showing depth, contour lines, old fence/tree lines, old houses and farmsteads, old ponds, you name it.

They are laminated and very detailed, I have one for Cheney, Winfield, El Dorado, and I think Kanopolis. They are fun to look at and plan your next trip when the weather is like it is today! :cool2:
