I went to watts bar saturday balow the dam and saw something new to me. About 100 yards out and half way down the sidewalk on the turbine side there were rocks sticking up about a foot out of the water! I dont have a depth finder and always assumed the water was deeper than that. None of the turbines were running and men were working right above the discharge so they might have had the water shut off for a long time. At least now I know not to come up thru there in winter and I will definitely watch where my drift is taking me next time. Is this normal in winter or is it a once in a while type thing?
