Lost on getting skippies.

    What do you look for structure wise when catching skipjack from the bank?..I am so ancious to catch some and maybe sink into a BIG blue...I just am lost..So what time of year and where in the river do you guys look...For bait im using a green feather jig for Crappie..and i have some white twister grubs and plan lead head jigs...

    i find my skips usually hangin around the edges of dams where the fast water meets calmer water . i use 2 1/16th jigs heads and a floatin nymph

    I also usually catch mine at the dam here in Alton. I also catch them from the bank where I fish. You just never know when they are around unless you have a boat with electronics. I always use sabiki rigs. Good luck.

    I always find a place where the current is good and just go on the hunt..if in a boat. In the eves they usually will start hitting the top of the water like small stripers. I use a white 2in curly tail...
