We had problems with the gas clogging our fuel filter. We drained the fuel tank and our gas was orange. At the bottom of the tank it looks like brownish-orangish algae or fungi or bacteria. When it dries up though, it turns white - into a powdery substance. Does anyone know what this could be?

    Thanks!

It is rust scaling that has fallen off the inside of the tank and/or some other container the gas was in,then when it dries out the rusty metal bits quickly oxidize turning the mess white. replace gas tank(s),fuel lines, squeeze bulb, then clean carbs and you should be alright again.
