i cannot stop singing the praises of tournament choice rods. sorry if ya'll get tired of hearing it. if there is an Academy near you go buy one. if u dont like it they said they will take it back. if it breaks for ANY reason they will exchange it for u free of charge.

the 7' ones i have are great and only $12

Aaron have you checked out Catfishconnection.com website? They have several rods in your price range to choose from. I would agree with the post on Med/ Heavy action. Good Luck in your search.:0a26: :0a23:

I also have to say an ugly stick. They come in various sizes and stay in your price range. I sometimes fish above a spillway and have to pull the fish up about 6 feet and that pole will bend like crazy but never breaks or gets disfigured. I'm sure it could some day, but i'm just not seeing it happen in the near future.

I was at BassPro Sunday looking at the rods, I have a catMaxx combo and am thinking about getting another one of those or the Ugly Stick Cat. I figure I have about two to three months to make up my mind. Both have good looking Medium to Heavy action rods and the Ugly Stick is some what less expensive.

Tournament Choice is an Academy brand rod. Academy is a sporting goods store.

their website is www.academy.com but most of thier inventory is not on the site.
