Looking for advice about fishing for flathead catfish in Rend Lake

    for the past few years i've been tring to get into flathead fishing at rend lake. i've talk to tons of people about how and where they fish at there. so i no a lot about it but i just want to learn more so any tips on how to catch them or and good spots to fish would be help full.

    up till now the biggest i've landed was 10lbs and i've had some big ones on but they always throw the hook.

    Steve I use 8/0 Gamakatsu Octopus Circle hooks. Let the Flathead run with your bait. Lock your reel in gear then just reel down on them. You won't lose very many with a circle hook. Hope this helps.

    Now is the time to be fishing along the flats next to the old river bed at night with live bait..like sunfish.

    My cousin seems to catch quite a few nice ones on jugs using bluegill for bait, not sure where at, and its a big lake.
