I was just wondering if anyone can say where most productive place would be to actually catch shad? I have gone to a few places(boat ramps and docks) but I usually catch ghost minnows or perch but would like to try shad. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. :smile2:

if you got a boat try creek area's or inlets off the river.
lakes they can be any where. but as summer move's in you just look for the shad to pop the top of the water or school around.hope this helps

it has a lot to do with time of year and weather conditions, water temp. i don`t know about where you are at but here the shad have moved back out into the lake out of the creeks here in eastern oklahoma. watch for gulls or peligans, water turkeys working the water. if they are diving they are fishing.
