I tried something new as it relates to fishing in the river this morning. I worked the plateau just to the West of the river channel in 40 to 60 feet of water using my trolling motor at 0.5 MPH. . Bait of choice this morning was fresh bass fillets using down lines like you would fish for suspended fish. There was plenty of bait and arches from 35 to 40 feet. Fishing time was less than three hours. Location was in front of the Marshall Steam Plant hot hole and to the SW. Water temp. was 79 to 83 degrees.
