I was thinking of using a dehydrator to cure chicken liver.

does this sound like a good idea?

instead of leaving it in the sun to cure.

    any input would be appreciated.

I tried doing liver in a dehydrator, turned out to be the biggest mess I've dealt with. Just didn't work well for me, ended up tossing the DH away it was so nasty. Wouldn't do it again.

Did you line the trays with wax paper? I did some stuff once that I had to make aluminum troughs to hold it in, Wonder if that would work and keep the mess down?

I have found wind to help just as much as sun. Maybe lay it out on something a tray or what ever you have put in bed of your truck and head to your spot. By the time you get there it should be cured. Happen to me one time but not my doing. The lid blew off and spilled in the bed on my way to the lake:eek:oooh:but it cured and I didn't have to wait. :0a26:
