Went to Bss Pro last night and as I was looking around I saw this small ugly stick rod. First I kind of thought it was a joke but saw it was used for ice fishing, rated for 2-6 lbs. and about 8-12 inches long with a small spinning reel attached. Talk about light action fishing, thought how cool it would be to get one and go to a small pond or lake where some blue gill or small cats were and give it a whirl, but na don't have 28.00 to throw away, but it did kind of sound fun.

I heard about these little rod a few weeks back. I looked on ebay and I'm thinking about getting two just because I want them. Shoot they should work good for crappie fishing down here in the deep south where the ice is scared to come.

Long ultralights are more fun. Try the Bass Pro Microlight rods...mine is 7.6. Great fun for $40.

I belive that I have the same "4'6" Little Ugly Stick" that you have. With that you can get to those out of the way places like under over hanging trees, under boats docks ect. + there's the fight of a "Nice size Bluegill or Crappie"?

Also if you hook-up with a Ba$$ in the process, it can handel it.
    (Think about it  )

One of those Little Ugly Stick & A the nice fight of a panfish - is priceless.
